About

Permission Granted is about seeing yourself as the solution to your problems. This site offers a bespoke and curated collection of thoughts, resources and experiences that are designed to provide pragmatic guidance to anyone who seeks them.

About

Our vision is to see you give yourself permission to pursue your personal and professional goals in a way that is useful and pragmatic and builds a sense of purpose and community. We developed this for everyone who has ever felt like an outsider, not good enough, not smart enough, unprepared, unwanted and unsure.

If you feel you missed out on the “how to adult” class or “thriving in the workplace 101”, this place is for you. Or maybe many things are going right, yet you can’t move up at work, or you feel you can’t balance one area going well at the cost of another failing. If you’re stuck, unsure, overwhelmed and feeling like life is whizzing by, and you’re running out of ideas on how to make it yours - welcome; we’re glad you’re here.

What is pg?

Let’s talk about permission and why we think you are ready to grant it to yourself. It’s not intended as ‘jargongargles’ (a word we invented for all the workplace buzzwords that mean nothing in reality). We saw a gap where people wait for permission that isn’t coming, and we wanted to address it by guiding you to give yourself permission. We are piloting and creating as we go because we know that’s where the magic happens in transforming skills and confidence. It’s the foundation of all we offer. Check out our FAQs, too.

Permission Granted is a co-creation project that shares our personal and professional experiences underpinned by our values. We observe that we, and many talented people around us, feel trapped, held back and undervalued. We spend so much time seeking permission to be who we are and waiting for permission to be granted. This sparked the concept of taking what we have experienced and creating a pragmatic consultation because the why, what and how are rarely offered in sync.

Our mission is to offer empowerment and growth by sharing our favourite tools, resources and

articles and actively listening to others in a way that creates a community. When you feel seen and valued, we know you will grant yourself permission to be the whole you.

Our Manifesto

We spend too much time stagnant and unfulfilled, waiting for the right time, place, person or opportunity to give us the external permission we need to move forward. We challenge the assumption that time equates to readiness. We challenge the assumption that you need to wait for a green light.

You are enough. You are capable. You are ready to define and pursue what matters most to you. We offer pragmatic guidance to equip you to get out of your way and live empowered.

You are ready. Grant yourself permission.

Our Values

For us, 'values' is not just another buzzword. Our values underpin everything we do. They are our guiding framework for decision-making, behavior and actions.

FAQs

What is it that you actually do?

We design, create and curate bespoke content based on our experiences, worries, failures, successes and priorities. We invite others to add their voice, take what works and leave what doesn’t. What we observe is that there isn’t something geared to all genders, all early to mid-career stages where you can work through your problems and immediately apply that to your situation. We wanted to show you can be community and career-focused without competing - instead, we focus on creating and confidence-building.

Why is it called Permission Granted?

We experienced and know many brilliant people (in diverse ways) that are held back by toxic bosses, unsupportive spouses, non-inclusive situations and erosion of self-confidence. This troubled us deeply because there is a leadership epidemic, and we need self-aware, values-based, good humans shaping decisions and policies in the world that impact our families, communities and stability.

Like many, we juggle multiple responsibilities, and we wanted to do something that nurtured our friendship and professional obsessions and gave us a chance to connect with people seeking to make their next move or get unstuck.

What credibility do you have as consultants?

Beyond our respective careers, we each hold degrees - check out our bios. Our intersection of education, experience and leadership has positioned us as practitioners and pragmatists. We bring very different perspectives, and that’s what rounds out our thinking. We live our lives in line with what we offer - we pilot, iterate and rethink our approaches - by that, we mean dedicating our time to things we value and want to see more of in the world and working to address things we can’t stand in out and of the workplace.

How is this different from every other coaching service?

We are not coaches nor therapists (although that has occurred informally between us at times). We consult. You hold the answers within you, and we use tried and tested approaches to bring out your ability to live empowered by that knowledge. It’s not enough to be told to live as your whole self, it’s something you have to experiment with and design.

One of the unique things we offer is clinics, so you can bring your problems, and we’ll live-time work through them. Words and actions have to work in tandem to achieve results. We have curated all kinds of content to help you help yourself. Down the line, we’ll be offering programs that you can dive deep into.

We don’t profess to have it all figured out - we do seek to keep learning and sharing our findings and reflections in support of your journey. Our goal is to spark depth of connection and thought in a society that prefers the quick, surface and convenient and instantly gratified.
